Learn theories and models of addictive and compulsive behavior assessment, diagnosis, and treatment; principles of psychopathology and personality disorders; and therapeutic intervention treatments, including individual and group counseling. This program also addresses ethnic and cultural awareness and ethics associated with counseling and addiction counseling in particular. This program is designed to develop addiction prevention and treatment professionals who wish to pursue licensure or certification1, 2 or advance to leadership positions in the field.
